Michael's Diary -- 2001-2003 Archive

3.22.2003
OK, so, last night, the deal was that I had been thinking for the last week about starting up my diary again. With my recent acquisition of a Pocket PC, with its (in my view) much improved writing interface, it seemed one of the problems I had keeping up with the diary -- the inability to update stuff on the fly or as I had time, if I was away from my PC -- might go away if I was able to find a decent Blogger interface that would allow me to synch entries created on it during the day when I returned home. Voila, this really useful AvantGo channel. About zero overhead on the PPC, and does almost everything I could ask except add a timestamp to each entry -- the timestamps appear through Blogger when the synch takes place, not when they are written offline, so I'll have to add my own datelines. Still, wicked cool. So, you can expect a lot more diarizing out of me now. Anyhow I stayed up pretty late fussing with it and changing the look and feel of my diary, but now it's all set.
Today, sleeping late, eating a nice brunch, reading the papers, catching up on the war with Iraq before finally tiring of the anxiety of it all, then screwing around on the PC and learning a few 3D modelling tricks, one of my latest pursuits. Tonight, Tony Levin at Martyrs, a bar down the street.
This last week has been tiring and upsetting. For much of it I acutely felt far away from my goals and aspirations. Chalking it up to depression -- seems to come and go from time to time, and only lasts for a few days, but while it's going on it's difficult to remember that it only lasts a few days. Anyway, my point is taking it easy this weekend is a good way of healing up after feeling kind of frustrated and upset (and subsequently tired as hell) for much of the week. Feeling much better now, but hanging around relaxing in your sweats doing interesting things will do that for ya.
