[Listening to: Jesus Thinks You're A Jerk - Frank Zappa - Broadway The Hard Way (09:18)]
A late night, a long weekend. We were in Philadelphia over the weekend, visiting Gemevieve's family. Our trip began with a late-night visit to Geno's for cheesesteaks, a glorious palce and fully off diet -- a theme which would recur as several non-diet items were on the menu for the weekend. Saturday we were up early for a brief service and the interment of G's grandfather's remains -- he died a couple of years back, but donated his body to science. His cremated remains were laid to rest on Saturday in an emotional few moments and we went out to a luncheon afterwards. Genevieve worked on her paper for school while her sister Megan and I went to see X2, which I really enjoyed, much better than the first X-Men in my opinion. Then we went out in Philly and had some dinner and a few beers, just me, G, and Meg; they went dancing late-night while I retired to a small pub. Sunday was a visit to G's sister Elizabeth's graduating class art show, and then another flick, this time Identity, which was a clever idea and original, even though I figured it out about 1/3 of the way through. Monday morning came way too early and it was time for Elizabeth's graduation, held in the Philly Academy of Music, a grand old music hall indeed, and exciting for her and her classmates and especially G's parents. Then a luncheon at McCormick & Schmick, a little shopping and a couple of beers with Genevieve's sisters, and home for a late-night pizza. Up early again this morning for the long flight home, and playing catch-up all day until watching Star Trek: Nemesis early on, then meeting G for dinner at the pub, retiring home, cleaning out my office, organizing things, catching up some more, and now I HAVE to go to bed so my customary linking to the oh-so-interesting topics in my daily entry will be left out today.
